It is a fairly simple matter for prospective law students to find information on the LSAT scores of students accepted to most U.S. law schools. The American Bar Association makes public disclosure of this data one of the conditions of accreditation. LSAT scores are given on a document referred to as a "Standard 509 Information Report," and these reports include student LSAT scores at the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles. The Standard 509 for Harvard Law School shows that these LSAT scores are 170, 172, and 175 respectively. The Standard 509 also includes statistics for the number of applicants, acceptance offers, and matriculants as well as the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentile undergraduate GPAs of enrolled students. About 17% of Harvard Law School applicants are offered admission, and approximately 62% of these students choose to attend. The median GPA of a Harvard Law student is 3.86, and the middle-50% GPA range is 3.76-3.94. Finally, bar passage rates for law schools are indicated on Standard 509 forms, and these rates can be viewed as evidence of an institution's quality of legal training. About 95% of Harvard Law graduates pass the bar, which means that nearly all Harvard Law students become fully qualified to practice law in one or more states.
